Early Sunday morning on December 23rd, around 4:45 AM, Engine 75 arrived at the scene near 117th Street and LaSalle Avenue. They encountered what appeared to be a fire in a two-and-a-half story wooden building. Shortly after their arrival, Battalion 22 requested a formal fire alarm and mentioned that there were flames spreading through two structures. As firefighters began their efforts, they found significant fire activity in the attic of the wooden building. Despite the challenge, the team managed to force entry and eventually reached the attic. Through coordinated efforts, they successfully extinguished the blaze before it could escalate further or spread to adjacent areas.
The initial response highlighted the quick thinking and skill of the firefighting crew who were able to contain the situation early on.
