Recently, the Southwest Petroleum Bureau Oil and Gas Testing Center successfully completed a pressure-changing operation on the gas wellhead gate valve of Well Chuanhe No. 127, effectively resolving the blockage caused by calcium deposits through conventional acidification. As a result, the Nissan natural gas flow reached 56,000 cubic meters, and the old well was successfully rehabilitated. Located in Panjiang Town, Luojiang County, near the banks of the Kai River, the Hexing field structure houses this aging well. Prior to the recent operations, the well had a natural gas flow of over 10,000 cubic meters per day after a secondary workover. However, during the shut-in period, a leak was detected in the main tree valve, posing a significant safety risk.
Traditionally, replacing the tree gate valve would require stabilizing the well with pressure before proceeding. However, the successful application of the pressure-changing wellhead gate valve technology at Well Chuanhe No. 127 not only saved substantial costs but also avoided any damage to the production layer, ensuring environmental protection and preserving the integrity of the reservoir. This innovative approach marks a major advancement in well maintenance and operational efficiency, demonstrating the value of modern techniques in managing aging infrastructure. The project highlights the importance of adapting traditional methods with new technologies to enhance both safety and productivity in oil and gas operations.
