Here’s my take on rewriting that passage:
---
Hey everyone,
This just came in from Josh Boyajian. Around 7:30 PM on Tuesday (November 3rd, 2015), the Main Fire Alarm Office (MFAO) dispatched the 18th Battalion to a still alarm near the intersection of Rice and Austin. Just about 30 seconds later, Oak Park received a tone-out for what turned out to be a structure fire at the same address. The caller reported smoke and flames coming from the third floor of an apartment building.
Battalion 18 arrived on scene first and quickly confirmed there was indeed a fire on the third floor of a three-story building on the Oak Park side of the street. Engine 96 was the first unit to arrive and got things rolling. Truck 29 was right behind them and hoisted their aerial ladder up to the roof. By the time I got there, the fire was already under control, but it was still awesome to see both Chicago and Oak Park firefighters working together. Here are some photos I snapped while everything was wrapping up.
[Attached are several images showing different angles of the scene, including Engine 96, firefighters in action, and the overall structure post-fire.]
It’s always great to see departments collaborating like this, especially when it involves such iconic units as Engine 96 and Truck 29. Let me know if you want any more details or have questions about anything specific!
