On Monday, May 15, 2017, at approximately 10:58 p.m., the Lake Zurich Fire Department responded to a house fire at 22580 Somerset Court. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the garage and several vehicles were already engulfed in flames. Due to the severity of the situation and the lack of nearby hydrants, the alarm was upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm, which brought in multiple fire engines and water tenders to transport water to the scene. This coordinated effort ensured that crews had the necessary resources to control the blaze effectively.
The fire caused significant damage to the property, with the garage and surrounding structures heavily affected. Firefighters worked diligently to prevent the fire from spreading further and to protect nearby homes. Several neighboring departments, including Long Grove and Fox Lake, also sent additional units to assist in the response.
