These outdated practices result in excessive use of water, chemicals, and labor, while also reducing productivity and harming the environment. The new cantilever self-propelled sprinkler, developed by the Ministry of Agriculture's research institute, addresses these issues with advanced computer programming and automation. Field tests have shown that it saves 60.9% water and 60% labor compared to manual irrigation. Its cost is 60% lower than similar imported products, offering an impressive input-output ratio of 1:6.6. Dalian Century Seedling Co., Ltd. previously relied on water guns for irrigation, which led to uneven watering, poor soil permeability, low germination rates, and weak, irregular plant growth. This required significant manual effort and high seed usage. After adopting the new sprinkler, greenhouse humidity became more stable, plants grew stronger and more uniformly, and disease occurrence decreased significantly. Compared to foreign alternatives, this device offers not only even spraying but also additional features like fertilization and remote control, making it more user-friendly and cost-effective. Its implementation in Dalian’s Xijiao Biological Garden boosted seedling income by over 10%, saved resources, and generated an extra 300,000 yuan within a year. This innovation represents a major step forward in smart agriculture, helping farmers improve efficiency and sustainability.
