Emergency crews were deployed across Milwaukee County on Wednesday, August 11, following a series of severe storms that hit the area overnight. The storms caused widespread power outages, leaving thousands without electricity for several hours.

 

We Energies reported that they were fully mobilized and working around the clock to restore power after what is being called the largest restoration effort in the company's history. Due to the extensive damage to the power grid, some areas may not have power restored for several days.

 

In addition to the power outages, numerous vehicles and homes suffered damage from fallen trees and debris. Local officials are urging residents to stay cautious and avoid downed power lines as crews continue their recovery efforts.
