Phoenix Satellite TV specifically reported Bayer MaterialScience Waterborne Coatings Newsletter News Program - "Business Travel Impulse" Chinese audience in the Asia Pacific region reached 140 million

SHANGHAI — Bayer MaterialScience is actively working to enhance public awareness of the benefits of waterborne coatings and is collaborating with the Chinese government to support environmental protection initiatives. In an exclusive interview with Phoenix TV's "Business Travel Impulse" program, Li Yulin, General Manager of Bayer MaterialScience China and Hong Kong Coatings Market, emphasized that waterborne polyurethane coating systems are eco-friendly alternatives to traditional coatings. These materials contain fewer solvents and emit lower levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making them a more sustainable choice.

Li Yulin stated, “In a rapidly developing country like China, environmental protection has become a top priority for both citizens and the government. Waterborne polyurethane coatings offer an ideal solution by reducing harmful emissions while maintaining high performance.”

Cheng Zhijun, producer of "Business Travel Impulse," highlighted the relevance of the topic: “As someone who has followed the Chinese coatings industry for years, I believe it’s time for society to recognize the value of waterborne coating systems. Partnering with global leaders like Bayer MaterialScience is a privilege, and we hope this program helps raise awareness and drive progress in the industry.”

Dr. Mifuke, Senior Vice President of Coatings, Adhesives, and Sealants at Bayer MaterialScience Asia Pacific, shared insights into the company’s global climate protection efforts. “Bayer has long prioritized environmental sustainability. We launched the Bayer Climate Protection Plan to reduce emissions and develop green solutions, including waterborne coatings. Our goal is to not only cut our own carbon footprint but also support innovative approaches to combat climate change.”

Dr. Mfco was also invited to speak at Peking University on marketing innovation and environmental responsibility.

Phoenix Satellite TV, known as the “China’s BBC,” reaches over 140 million viewers across Asia, Europe, and North America. It is widely recognized as one of the most reliable sources of international Chinese news.

During the interview, Mr. Li discussed Bayer’s role in advancing waterborne coating technologies in China and introduced two leading experts from the company’s R&D team. The program also featured a panel discussion with industry professionals, including Ye Hanci from China Resources Coatings Group and Qian Borong from Sinochem Construction Changzhou Coating Chemical Research Institute.

Qian Borong noted, “The Chinese coatings market is growing rapidly, but solvent-based coatings still dominate. With increasing environmental concerns, there’s a strong need for greener technologies.”

Ye Hanci added, “Waterborne polyurethane coatings are gaining popularity globally due to their low emissions. As companies like Bayer continue to innovate, demand for these eco-friendly solutions is rising quickly in China.”

The program will air at the end of December, with a simultaneous broadcast on Phoenix TV’s official website, Phoenix.TV.com.
