Industrialization of new energy vehicles is still a problem

As the State Council had previously passed the "Energy-saving and new energy automotive industry development plan (2012-2020)", making fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly cars once again become a highlight of the auto show. At the Guangzhou Auto Show this year, Volkswagen's pure electric vehicle “e-UP!” was officially unveiled. Audi also introduced the A3e-tron plug-in hybrid. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz's latest generation of smartfortwo electric vehicles announced its domestic sales price of 235,000 yuan.

What attracts most attention is that the new pure electric vehicle Zino 1E independently developed by BMW Brilliance is also officially released at the auto show. As this is the latest new energy automobile product with international leading technology background and debuting with its own brand identity, ZINORO 1E is regarded as a powerful competitor of its own brand new energy vehicle.

It is understood that in order to support BMW Brilliance’s new brand new energy vehicle project, in September 2013, the BMW Brilliance R&D Center was officially established and a new energy technology center was established. The core components of the new model are high-voltage power batteries purchased in China, and the new car is produced at the BMW Brilliance West plant. BMW Brilliance also said in an interview that he is "the only luxury brand manufacturer to bring new brand new energy products to the market."

In terms of product parameters, ZINORO 1E uses a lithium iron phosphate battery that has been widely recognized for its thermal stability and safety. Its mileage can reach 150 kilometers and it can be charged for about 7.5 hours using a 16-amp wall box.

Regarding the business model most concerned about by the industry, Mr. Kang Siyuan, president and chief executive officer of BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd., said: “ZINO's first product is not for the purpose of pursuing sales. Our aim is to make the whole society more competitive with high-end electric vehicles. More attention."

It is due to the current industrialization environment is still not mature, the industrial chain has not yet opened up, the promise of the first model, will take a lease. Kang Siyuan said: "Leasing means that more people have the opportunity to experience our products. Leasing also means that consumers do not have to worry about the maintenance of vehicles and used car value, or any other concerns."

ZINORO 1E, as the first product of BMW Brilliance’s own brand, did not set a sales target, reflecting the industrialization of new energy vehicles to a certain extent, and still plagued the industry’s progress. We also saw that Tesla, which once brought vitality to the industry, announced in June that it had recalled some products due to product defects. Fisker, a well-known American hybrid car manufacturer, also filed for bankruptcy protection. Domestic independent brands of new energy vehicles still look for opportunities in policy and market gaps. This is what SU Bo, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said when attending the Summer Davos Forum in Dalian: “The promotion of new energy vehicles is facing obstacles all over the world and cannot be solved overnight.”

Su Bo said that the supportive policies for the development of new energy vehicles are still continuing, and the reduction of the cost of new energy vehicles ultimately depends on technological development. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance will jointly implement more than 4 billion yuan of funds to support new energy vehicle design and battery development projects. According to the relevant documents, the target of the demonstration project for new energy vehicles initiated by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was that by 2012, the domestic new energy vehicle operation scale will reach 10% of the market share of the automobile. Su Bo revealed that the 2012 annual task for the promotion of new energy vehicles has not been completed, but this does not affect the optimistic view of the auto industry growth and consumption of space.
