Mechanical seal concept

The mechanical seal is a rotary mechanical oil seal device. Such as centrifugal pumps, centrifuges, reactors and compressors and other equipment. Since the transmission shaft penetrates the inside and outside of the equipment, a circumferential clearance exists between the shaft and the equipment. The medium in the equipment leaks out through the clearance. If the pressure in the equipment is lower than the atmospheric pressure, the air leaks into the equipment, so there must be a Stop leaking shaft seals. There are many kinds of shaft seals. Because mechanical seals have the advantages of less leakage and long service life, mechanical seals in the world today are the most important shaft sealing methods in these devices.

Mechanical seals, also known as face seals, are defined in the relevant national standards: "At least one pair of end faces perpendicular to the axis of rotation are held together by the action of the fluid pressure and the compensation mechanism's spring force (or magnetic force) and the auxiliary seal. A device for preventing fluid leakage that is formed by sliding."
