· LeTV or will build a super car in Aston Martin

LeTV, who has always wanted to build a car, will be riding the super-running brand Aston Martin.

Yesterday, Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer and LeTV supercar co-founder, global vice chairman, China and Asia Pacific CEO Ding Lei "secret" China's embassy in the UK, and the purpose of the two sides' low-key meeting, It is to discuss the cooperation between LeTV and Aston Martin in various fields such as automobile R&D, manufacturing and even sales.

According to a source close to LeTV, "During the previous week, during the Frankfurt Motor Show, Ding Lei was invited by Andy Palmer to attend the Aston Martin cocktail party and communicated on the cooperation. After two weeks, the two met again, and it is likely that a consensus has been reached on the next step of cooperation."

It is worth noting that Aston Martin, as the manufacturer of the global super sports car, has many similarities with LeTV's planning and positioning of future products.

Earlier, foreign media reported that Aston Martin is currently developing two eco-friendly models, including a pure electric model and a hybrid model. One of the pure electric vehicles will be powered by a 1000-horsepower powertrain, while the Tesla P85D, also known for its performance, is 700 hp.

It is not difficult to find out from LeTV's previously announced super car concept map. The first model will be positioned in the middle and high-end electric vehicles, and some analysts pointed out that its competing products are directed at Tesla. Tesla's current price range in China is between 700,000 and 1 million, while Aston Martin's price range is 2 million to 6 million. Aston Martin and Tesla are positioned in super sports cars. Obviously not in a competing product range, which also provides more space for delus to build a car.

It is understood that Andy Palmer served as the global vice president and chief planning officer of Nissan Motors before the appointment of Aston Martin's global CEO, and was in charge of Infiniti and current vice president of Supercar (China) Lu Zhengyu, who used to be an executive at Infiniti, had a work intersection.

"The senior management of the two companies maintains close communication. The two sides have reached a consensus on the Internet of Vehicles while seeking more cooperation," the source said.

Earlier, at the Shanghai Auto Show in April this year, Aston Martin announced that it will jointly launch a research and development project with LeEco to jointly promote the next generation of Internet car technology. LeTV will provide Aston Martin with in-vehicle smart terminals, Internet applications and services. The collaboration will focus on the development of human-computer interaction concepts, applications in future Aston Martin models and how to implement infotainment services such as navigation, music playback and in-vehicle connectivity applications.

Some analysts said that Ding Lemi and Andy Palmer have reached a consensus on future cooperation, which means that the LeTV super car building plan will accelerate.

In August of this year, the LeTV supercar concept map was officially released. Just a month ago, LeTV also comprehensively interpreted its “eco-opening”, which will not only break the current relatively closed car ecosystem, but also be considered as an important strategy on the road of LeTV.

"In the current situation of multiple Internet companies including Baidu accelerating into the automotive field, LeTV will accelerate the promotion of the super car building plan, which will undoubtedly seize the next mobile internet terminal after the mobile phone and computer," analysts said.
