Pump Overview
The 2BEA series water ring vacuum pumps are single-stage and single-acting types, ideal for handling gases without solid particles that are slightly soluble or insoluble in the working liquid. These pumps are widely used in various industrial applications such as papermaking, coal processing, pharmaceuticals, food production, and metal manufacturing.
If the wetted parts are made from or coated with corrosion-resistant materials, the pump can handle corrosive gases or use corrosive liquids as the working medium. This makes it suitable for more demanding environments where chemical resistance is required.
Working Principle
Figure 1 illustrates the working principle of this vacuum pump. The impeller is installed eccentrically inside a nearly circular casing. As the impeller rotates, the liquid is thrown outward by centrifugal force, forming a liquid ring. This creates a crescent-shaped chamber between the impeller hub and the inner surface of the liquid ring.
As the rotation moves from point "A" to "B," the chamber expands, creating a vacuum that draws in gas through the inlet port. When the rotation continues from point "C" to "A," the chamber shrinks, compressing the gas. Once the pressure reaches or exceeds the external pressure, the gas is discharged through the outlet port.
