The first set of phase noise standards was successfully developed to assist the development of high-performance radar

[ China Instrument Network Instrument R&D ] Recently, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited 203 successfully developed the first set of absolute phase noise standards in China, providing a solid technical foundation for the development of high-performance radar in China.

In the field of time and frequency measurement, the phase noise parameter is a key component of frequency domain metering. This parameter is widely used in deep space exploration, radar, communications and navigation, and is the "life" of various frequency sources and two port components. Indicators, their requirements for calibration and uncertainty are very stringent.
On the one hand, the frequency source technology is changing with each passing day, the phase noise level is rapidly advancing, and on the other hand, the calibration technology has stagnated, and the traditional measurement mode that has been used has been used for many years. The problem of traceability of phase noise measurement results can only be achieved through comparison methods in China. Therefore, the integrity of traceability links is extremely urgent.
The first introduction of the principle of cross-correlation measurement in the Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation 203 resulted in a significant improvement in the bottom noise. The suppression of the algorithm broke the bottleneck of the hardware optimization and achieved the optimization of the bottom noise. This greatly satisfies the calibration requirements of the low-noise frequency source and greatly improves the requirements. Domestic phase noise calibration capability has epoch-making significance .
This is the first time that domestic and foreign colored phase noise standards are proposed. It solves the problem of confusing phase noise calibration for several decades and provides a solid foundation for the verification of hundreds of sets of phase noise measurement systems across the country. It has also been established for the first time. The traceability link, the calibration range covers the entire Fourier analysis frequency.
According to reports, the patent has been authorized by the national invention patent. Through comparison verification with foreign authorities, this standard has more than tripled the current level of verification uncertainty measurement in China, and at the same time provided a solid technical foundation for the development of high-performance radars in China, and will further enhance our country’s Defense strength.
