Plug valve repair and installation

Plug valves All repairs and soldering repairs using welding operations must use welders and welding processes that meet ASME Section IX standards. All welds including butt welds should be repaired using a low-hydrogen welding process. Welding repairs shall be carried out in accordance with the approved process, and the maintenance of the main welds shall be subject to the owner's consent. Plug valve on the casting welding repair should be done before the production heat treatment. Welding repair or repair of the weld must be done before any heat treatment to eliminate metal stress. Hardness testing is required for repairs on castings due to slight hardness traversing across the weld, heat affected zone and base metal. The maximum Vickers hardness value measured with a load of 500 grams shall be 310 HV. For all repaired defects, the same NDE method originally used to detect defects should be used and tested according to the same standards. Prior to welding, appropriate tools should be used to clean the site where the welding is to be prepared and remove soil or metal debris. Do not repair the defect whose depth reaches more than 20% of the thickness of the object to be repaired. Plug Valve Installation Wherever possible, plug valves should be kept as close as possible to the datum. All working valves installed above ground, platform or other easily accessible locations 2100 mm or more should be capable of hammering to the pulley of their work. Hammering pulleys should be fitted with U-clamps, not J-bolt clamps. Valve should be suitable for both vertical position installation, but also horizontal position installation.
