Comprehensive foreign reports, the United States steering system supplier Nexteer recently announced that it is the world's first supply of electronic power steering (EPS) for pickup trucks. Nexteer offers a 12-volt EPS system for the 2011 Ford F-150 pickup.
Mike Richardson, Nexteer’s Vice President of Steering Systems Business, said: “EPS is becoming the first choice for global automotive manufacturers' steering systems with its wide range of performance advantages. The F-150 pickup has more features than previous hydraulic steering systems including EPS Wait."
Ted Seeger, chief global electronic steering system engineer at Nexteer, said: "Applying to the pickup truck type is an important step in expanding the application of EPS technology."
“Previously, EPS has been widely used in small cars. EPS used on the F-150 can be used in larger cars to improve steering performance and fuel performance,†TedSeeger added.
