Yue Wenhai is a deputy chairman of the Professional Committee of Gypsum and Gypsum Products of the China Silicate Academy and a professor at Wuhan University of Technology. He graduated from Nanjing University in 1954 and served as a senior visiting scholar at Oklahoma State University from 1989 to 1990. He once served as Director of Materials Research and Testing Center of Wuhan University of Technology, Director of Open Research Laboratory of National Building Materials Bureau, and Director of Inorganic Non-metallic Materials Specialty Teaching Guidance Committee of National Higher Education School, enjoying special government allowances from the State Council.
