The value of plastics machinery in Germany decreased significantly last year

According to a report released recently by the German Machinery Manufacturing Association VDMA, the output value of core machinery of Germany's rubber and plastics decreased by 7.5% in 2005 from the previous year to 4.615 billion euros.

According to data published by VDMA, the output value of German extrusion machinery in 2005 increased by 1.7% year-on-year to 785 million euros; the output of injection-molded machinery decreased by 3% year-on-year to 855 million euros. In 2005, the import value of German rubber and plastics machinery decreased by 1.4% year-on-year to 628 million euros, while the value of exports decreased by 10.4% year-on-year to 3.334 billion euros. Among them, the export volume of extrusion machinery increased by 3.7% to 479 million euros; the export volume of injection-molded machinery decreased by 2.7% to 689 million euros.

However, VDMA also predicts that the core machinery output value of German rubber and plastics will increase by 4% in 2006, and the amount of orders received will increase by 7%.
