The safety factor of our resources and environment is close to that of a completely insecure country.

The article pointed out that China’s per capita possession of energy and mineral resources is seriously insufficient, and the per capita possession of important strategic resources such as petroleum, iron, copper and aluminum is only 11%, 42%, 18% and 7.3% of the world average. Taking oil as an example, the Blue Book of Energy in 2006 has predicted that in 2010 China’s dependence on foreign oil will reach 50%, and the forecast by the International Energy Agency will reach 55%.
According to statistics, there are only 23 kinds of 45 major mineral products in China that can meet domestic needs by 2010. Among them, the external dependence of iron ore, copper and aluminum exceeds 50%.
