Buffalo Grove firefighters were dispatched to McHenry Road and the entrance of The Grove shopping center, north of Lake-Cook Road, this morning (June 7, 2015) after a two-car collision. One vehicle was flipped onto its side. Battalion 4 arrived on scene and reported that two SUVs were involved, with one partially hanging over an embankment and into a drainage culvert.
The two people in the car that was still upright declined medical treatment, while the other two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle and required extrication. Firefighters used rescue jacks to stabilize the vehicle and secured it to the fire truck as they worked on both sides to free the injured.
