Buffalo Grove firefighters responded to a two-car collision on McHenry Road near The Grove shopping center entrance, north of Lake-Cook Road, this morning (6/7/15). One vehicle was overturned and partially hanging over an embankment into a drainage culvert. Battalion 4 arrived on scene and reported that two SUVs were involved in the crash. Two people in the car that was still on the road declined medical attention, while the other two occupants were trapped inside and required extrication.
The vehicle was stabilized using rescue jacks and secured to the fire truck’s quint. Firefighters worked on both sides of the car to safely free the trapped individuals. The scene was chaotic but well-managed, with crews working quickly to ensure everyone's safety.
