China's first 10,000-watt fiber laser came out in Wuhan

The laser energy released by an optical fiber with an embroidery needle can weld aircraft and ships. The reporter recently learned from Wuhan that China's first 10,000-watt continuous fiber laser was launched in Wuhan, and China became the second country to master this technology after the United States.
Although this laser has only about two freezer stacks, it has 10 "energy sides" in its belly, each of which is 1100 watts, each generating a laser beam, and 10 laser beams are then concentrated on one fiber to form Together, it will eventually generate 11,000 watts of powerful energy. This laser power combining technology is regarded by the United States as the core secret of the 10,000-watt laser.
In order to break the monopoly, Yan Dapeng and Li Cheng, the experts of the “Thousand Talents” of the two countries, led the team for a year of research and development and finally mastered the technology. Internationally, fiber lasers are increasingly used in industrial shipbuilding, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, military equipment and other fields. Compared with the traditional CO2 laser, it consumes only 1/5 of its power, only 1/10 of its volume, but its speed is 4 times faster, its conversion efficiency is 20% higher, and it is not polluted.
The technology is currently included in the National 863 Program next year. The technical team will also develop 2 megawatts of technology during the year to achieve the goal of 160 million yuan.
